How to use

Apply generously every morning as the last step of your skincare routine before makeup and 20 minutes before sun exposure. Re-apply every 2 hours, especially after exercise, swimming or towelling.

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. Wear a hat, protective clothing and sunglasses when in the sun, and avoid prolonged sun exposure. Overexposure to the sun is a serious health threat. Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight. Reducing the recommended amount of sunscreen applied will significantly lower the level of protection. For external use only. Patch test before first use. If an adverse reaction occurs, rinse skin thoroughly and discontinue use.

Who’s it for

Suitable for all skin types, especially breakout-prone skin. For anyone who avoids SPF because it feels too heavy, too greasy or breaks them out, this is your fix.

    Great sunscreen

I work in Dermatology so a good sunscreen is a must for me! Being acne prone I find it hard to find ont what doesn’t make my face feel incredibly oily or brakes my skin out.

This one absorbs into the skin nicely and is quite lightweight.

    Not greasy

My biggest gripe with sunscreens are that they’re too thick and greasy. This sunscreen is thick but not greasy in the slightest, I feel completely protected from the sun and I don’t look like a slip and slide. It has a bit of a white cast but I’m quite pale so it doesn’t bother me.

    Packaging Update ✨

I believe the formula has been updated for this one as well, but it feels the same to me texturally, so if you liked it before you’ll like it now. The new packaging is a lot more ergonomic in my opinion.

    New formula is lovely

I love the new formula I do however prefer the tube of the older model. The new pump doesn't deliver the product well.

FAQ'S

Still have questions?

Check out our most commonly asked questions! If you can't find the answer you are looking for, just hit up one of our friendly customer care team members! They love a chat.

Will sunscreen make my skin break out?

Some sunscreens can feel heavy or clog pores, which is why Skin Shady was formulated with breakout-prone skin in mind. The lightweight, non-comedogenic formula helps protect your skin without the greasy feel that can trigger congestion.

Can I wear Skin Shady under makeup?

Yes. Skin Shady was designed to sit smoothly under makeup. The lightweight texture absorbs quickly and doesn’t pill when layered with moisturiser or foundation.

Do I still need SPF if my makeup has SPF in it?

Yes. Makeup with SPF usually doesn’t provide enough protection on its own because it’s not applied in the same quantity as sunscreen.

Using a dedicated SPF underneath ensures your skin gets the level of protection it needs.

How much sunscreen should I apply?

For your face, use around two finger lengths of sunscreen to ensure proper protection.
Remember: applying too little sunscreen significantly reduces the level of SPF protection.

How often should I reapply SPF?

SPF should be reapplied every 2 hours, especially if you are outdoors, sweating or swimming.

Why did you reformulate?

At The Breakout Hack we’re constantly improving our formulas. We’ve upgraded the UV filter system to a more modern combination that delivers high protection with a lightweight feel.
